Kokon Universe Noise Reducing Sleeping Earplugs 3 prs XS/S/M 31 dB

Since May 2023, Kokon Universe has been launched with a new design featuring increased elasticity in the front flange area of the earplugs. This improvement significantly enhances user comfort, as this element is located near the isthmus of the auditory canal, its most sensitive region.

Developed by "Quietstore" and manufactured in Ukraine. The design incorporates critical aspects based on our experience with sleep earplugs: comfort, versatility (ability to fit most users), and noise reduction.

Features of Kokon Universe Sleep Earplugs

The design of the product was developed based on ear mold studies from our volunteers. Using this data, several prototypes of different designs were created and subjected to beta testing. We selected the options that received the highest ratings from beta testers for comfort and noise protection.

Size Range

Each person’s auditory canal has unique characteristics, with its main dimensions varying by 3-10mm between individuals. Additionally, the auditory canal of men is generally larger than that of women. To account for this, a size range was developed for Kokon Universe. Each set includes three sizes: XS (smallest), S (small), and M (medium). Each size has its own structural features, making the earplugs suitable for most users and providing maximum protection without compromising comfort.

Sleep Comfort and Maximum Noise Protection

Kokon Universe features a classic three-flange structure, which is ideal for personal protective equipment (PPE) of this kind. The inner cavity of the earplugs includes special ribs that provide the necessary stiffness to the inner part of the structure, ensuring easy insertion into the ear, while the soft outer flanges securely seal the auditory canal without causing discomfort.

The upper part includes a plug-filter with a ventilation hole. This feature eliminates the discomfort some users experience with standard earplugs, commonly referred to as the "echo effect."

All components, including the earplug body with a petal-holder and the plug, are made of soft, skin-safe silicone that softens approximately five minutes after contact with the skin. This ensures maximum comfort when lying on the side.

Why Buy Three Pairs of Earplugs in Different Sizes?

We are often asked: why pay for three pairs of earplugs in different sizes if only one will be used, and the others will remain unused? Surprisingly, purchasing a set with multiple size options ultimately reduces costs when choosing earplugs.

The main issue users face when selecting sleep earplugs is a mismatch between the accessory size and the auditory canal. This often leads to disappointment, unresolved noise problems, and wasted money. Even those confident in their ear size cannot be certain that a particular size will fit. Based on our experience, reusable earplugs supplied in a set with multiple sizes receive far more positive feedback than single-size sets marketed as "one size fits all."

SNR Testing

The earplugs underwent SNR (pretest) testing and compliance with European PPE requirements under the updated and stricter EN 352-2:2020 standard, achieving an SNR of 25.2 dB and a maximum rating of 31 dB when the most suitable size is used from the three available options. Testing was conducted at the independent acoustic laboratory PZT GmbH in Germany.
